Separate Water from Water - This is one of twelve first limited-edition of fine art screen prints collection, signed and numbered by artist Lev Gal Wertman. The full edition includes twelve different Images, with only 50 prints from each Image. The screen prints were created based on the original sketches and painting made for the design of the “Steven and Beena Levy Stained Glass Window Collection by Artist Lev Gal Wertman”.

The window is inspired by Genesis 1/6-8

“6 And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.”

This window depicts the sheer force of water, that has the potential to be both destructive (the Deluge) and benevolent - the water cycle, the continuous movement of water around the earth is the basis for all life on this planet.

The windows were installed in 2018 in the Barer Family Sanctuary at Gottesman RTW Academy. The windows are set in the walls surrounding the sanctuary and depict the story of Creation as told in the book of Genesis. The main values that lead the creation of the project were: working directly with the original text, igniting the natural curiosity of the students and keeping a contemporary point of view.
